		<description>I also agree. Any tool we can use to help with our businesses are just that--tools--they are not made to serve as saviors. I&#039;ve been dabbling with MuVar, an analysis program created by James Brausch. I&#039;m a bit of a datahead, so all the stats I can get I just gobble up, but I agree that we need to use common sense and look at the big picture to use these tools accurately and wisely.</description>

Anyway, I agree that averages hide problems.

To optimize something, instead of starting with the big picture the best approach is often the opposite - to start at the most fine grained level possible and look for problems there.  These are the problems that will get hidden in averages.</description>
